Culturally Relevant Assessment Project

Kawaikini is one of seventeen Hawaiian Focused Charter Schools participating in the Culturally Relevant Assessment (CRA) project through Kanaeokana that cascades from the Vision of the Graduate. Project objectives include cultural competency, readiness for the next level, and academic growth.

Three working groups developed tools that explore the following research question: What is the evidence of the HFCS Vision of the Graduate?

Culturally Relevant Assessment Project

Demonstrate, understand, apply Hawaiian values, respect and honor genealogy, recognize and accept leadership roles to manifest cultural knowledge, know a place (history, resources) as a piko and a foundation for making larger connections, understand the importance of reciprocal relationships and responsibilities in a cultural context.
